Fyde & Snapshot After months of dedication and hard work, Fyde and Snapshot are thrilled to finally present our newest research on the governance structures of decentralized autonomous organizations (DAOs). Not too long ago, we already wrote an article delving into the current shape of DAO governance and its challenges. Our data for this article was collected during December of last year, and offers a comprehensive understanding of the state of DAO governance at the time, with over 6,000 unique points. We discussed the major cogs in DAO governance, including voting mechanisms, proposal numbers, and participation rates. Although circumstances may have changed since the data was pulled, this piece answers initial inquiries on the topic and serves as a go–to reference point. If there is a healthy demand for this research, we anticipate keeping the dataset live by doing regular updates. The DAO Governance Conundrum From Crypto to DeFi: An Improved Governance Structure The cryptocurrency industry has not only revolutionized the way we view and use money, but it has also changed the way organizations are governed. Decentralized Autonomous Organizations — also known as DAOs — have enabled a new and improved governance structure that empowers its members and minimizes the risk of bias and corruption. However, despite their potential, current DAO governance structures come with several challenges, such as slow decision–making, voter apathy, and a lack of compatibility. As such, many organizations have begun to take the lead in finding solutions to these issues. In Comes Fyde Fyde is one of those innovators who are working to help create a more efficient and compatible governance structure. By offering a treasury management fund into which DAOs can deposit their native tokens and still retain governance rights, Fyde aims to provide a streamlined process for users to retain voting rights and thus increase overall participation. Furthermore, with the collection and consolidation of governance data — such as the type of proposal lifecycle, number of proposals, number of votes, average participation rates, and treasury — there are better ways to identify the needs of their users.
